Radio Identification
Our EMS providers are dispatched to emergencies on "EMS Dispatch" (3280) and the stations they are assigned to are are named as follows...
"Station 308" is the station located on Germantown Pike in Plymouth Township, and the ambulances are numbered "308-1" through "308-9".
"Station 308A" is the station located in Norristown Borough, and the ambulances are identified with a "1" in front of the truck number, "308-11" through "308-19".
"Station 308B" is the station located in West Norriton Township, and the ambulances are identified with a "2" in front of the truck number, "308-21" through "308-29"
"Station 308F" is our "Float Truck" that covers areas where call volume is heavy, and changes locations routinely. The "Float Truck", is identified with a "6" in front of the truck number "308-61" through "308-69".
The ambulances speak to the county dispatchers on "EMS Hail" (3312).
Our supervisors use a "plain-speak" system to identify themselves such as "Chief 308" and can be heard occasionally when they are needed to assist the ambulance crews on scenes.
